Model dv4 yang mulai dipasarkan tahun lalu kini mendapatkan upgrade penampilan luar motif Espresso Black atau Moonlight White seperti adik adiknya dv3 dan dv2. Penampilan all glossynya makin sophisticated dengan graphics dan hard disk yang lebih cepat.
HP Pavilion dv Series Makin Bersinar
HP Pavilion Notebook dv4 model 2008 kini mengadaptasi motif lingkaran Expresso Black dan motif garis Moonlight White. Adik adiknya muncul lebih dahulu seperti HP Pavilion dv2 ( 12 inci AMD ) yang hadir bulan Juni 2009, disusul HP Pavilion dv3 ( 13 inci ) pada bulan Agustus.
Berikut beberapa kesamaannya dv2, dv3 dan dv4:

- Lis Chrome mengkilap mengelilingi pinggir notebooknya

Fitur HP Pavillion dv4:
- Dedicated graphics NVIDIA GeForce G105M With 512MB untuk memberikan performance entry level untuk aplikasi grafis dan gaming 3D.
- eSATA port ( dalam sebuah USB eSATA combo ) memberikan fasilitas mengkopi data ke eksternal hard disk yang mempunyai interface eSATA dengan kecepatan 2 kali lipat USB 2.0.
- Hard Disk kapasitas 500GB kecepatan rotasi 7200 rpm yang akan memberikan kecepatan lebih dari notebook dengan hard disk berotasi 5400 rpm.
- HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive untuk kemampuan memerintahkan head baca di hard disk didalam notebook untuk "parkir" saat terjadi perubahan ketinggian yang cepat ( notebook jatuh ).
- DVDRW Double Layar ( 8.5 GB ) dengan kemampuan Lightscribe ( menulis judul langsung di keping DVDnya ).
- Docking connector untuk hubungan ke USB port replicator ( alat terpisah untuk port tambahan biasanya untuk kemudahan pasang memasang peralatan USB dan konektor monitor eksternal ).s
Model dv4-1432TX datang dengan Windows Vista sehingga masih harus klaim pembelian ke HP untuk mendapatkan upgrade gratis ke Windows 7. Dua model lainnya yang beredar sudah langsung datang dengan OS Windows 7 Home Premium. Tabel dibawah menunjukkan 3 model aktif dv4 dan satu model dv4 lama ( model tahun 2008 ).
